Dr. Zamindar and team launched “Eye for Quality” in August 2016

Dr Samina Zamindar was always passionate about quality, even before Quality in Patient Care was mandatory. ZMEC is India’s First Entry Level NABH Pre-Accreditated Eye Centre in India.

The passion for quality in healthcare delivery and after seeing the benefits of implementing NABH standards prompted Dr. Zamindar to start a Knowledge sharing platform ‘Eye for Quality’ in 2016, with the mission to help smaller hospitals start their quality journey. We believe that NABH standards if implemented in spirit and intent will benefit the patients, staff and organisation and make the health care in India world class. The perception among doctors and hospitals is that NABH Accreditation is for larger hospitals, and implementation is costly and painful. Eye for Quality wants to break this myth.

We conduct a 2-day workshop to train doctors, hospital administrators and nurses on “Basics of implementation of NABH standards” on weekends. The course includes all the chapters, standards and objective elements. It also simplifies important implementation aspects like, how to write SOP (Standard Operating Process), process mapping, documentation and training needs for all 10 chapters of NABH.

We have trained over 200 doctors/hospital administrators so far. The course empowers the participants to implement the standards at their centre, without outside help.

ZMEC has been declared as “Centre for Quality Promotion” by CAHO (Consortium of Accreditated Healthcare Organisations) on 11th June 2017.
